The Mercer Island High School Percussion Ensemble delivered an unforgettable evening of music and cultural exchange last night in a concert featuring CHIKIRI and The Taiko School. The performance marked the culmination of an eight-week artist residency with renowned taiko artists Rintaro and Asako Tateishi, who worked closely with students to explore the traditions, techniques, and artistry of Japanese taiko drumming.

Carly Henderson, co-host of Studio 13 Live on FOX 13 Seattle, will be broadcasting live from Mercer Island High School on Thursday, November 16 to celebrate both the MIHS Marching Band performing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the MIHS community. One of the items auctioned off at our annual Band Together auction was an opportunity to perform live on KMIH 88.8, the MIHS radio station. The performance was last week and included 6th graders Anders, Jack, Kaito, Hunter and Jonah. They played "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and it was fantastic.
