Under the guidance of its wonderful instructors, I was fortunate to learn invaluable lessons that transcended music, including responsibility, perseverance, and leadership. The program’s staff are some of the most compassionate staff in the district—years later, I still remember my first interaction with Mr. Thompson: him offering me a slice of pizza when I fell ill at band camp. In the theater world, people often say “skills for theater, skills for life.” But the same is true for Band: skills for Band are invaluable for all. Band is an asset to the community.
